I am having a freakin Gakupo fangirl melt down right now.. I want to spend all my money on perfecting the cosplay XD
“Episode.0” is a song originally done by mathru (KanimisoP) for the Vocaloid, Gakupo. Gackt chose two of his favorite Gakupo songs, which were this and “Paranoid Doll” by natsuP (which I’ll post later), and did covers of them.
Gackt stays true to the original Vocaloid song, and I personally like this version better. The vocals are much deeper (and easier to understand to boot) and the PV is basically taken directly from the original—the photography of Gackt depicts him dressed as Gakupo and it recreates the art from the original PV. The PV is very nice and it’s even inspired me to draw a couple of pictures.
The lyrics are very personal-sounding, and they tell the story of a warrior from the Sengoku jidai era of Japanese history. I love these lyrics. They’re oddly haunting and depressing.
